Girisuku cooperative is being praised for transforming Ngoma town into a clean place and for reducing poverty of its members.
Girisuku cooperative which has 16 members and up to 41 employees, has led its members to social development in addition to cleaning and planting flowers in Ngoma town.
Beathe, who works in Girisuku cooperative, on June 19th 2012, revealed to the reporter that she has achieved a lot with the money she earns from her job.
”Every member sleeps in a good place and can afford home necessities plus personal hygiene which we owe to this cooperative,” Beathe explains.
Ngoma district administration praise Girisuku cooperative because no garbage can be seen in this town especially in roads and markets, ever since this cooperative started working.
Garbage collected is taken to garbage collection place at Mahango in Kibungo sector, as notes Mrs. Providence Kirenga, Ngoma district Vice mayor for social affairs.
Girisuku cooperative was started as a way of creating jobs and to maintain sanitation in Ngoma town, employing more women since it’s their duty culturally.
Emmanuel Twizeyimana, Head of Girisuku cooperative at district level, narrates that in three years of existence, it has helped many people and some of its members through employing them.
