While some people think that men can produce all his life, it’s not true because men too experience andropause

Dr. Nyirinkwaya of la Croix du sud (the Southern Cross) Medical centre reveals that like menopause in women, andropause in men starts at age 40 but some delay to experience it depending on their hormones.

“A man can still enjoy sex at 70 years and impregnates a woman”.

Dr. Nyirinkwaya explains that menopause and andropause is a result of hormonal changes as one ages. To women, Oestrogen reduces while testosterone reduces in men and this reduces sexual interest.

“In addition to lack of sex interest, chances of giving birth do reduce to the point where one would not conceive again” he adds.

While andropause to men between the age of 30 and 80 years is at 6 percent, all women experience menopause which gives men higher chances of delayed andropause, says Dr. Nyirinkwaya.

On the other side, it is normal for men between 30 and 35 years of age to encounter testosterone reduction. After 10 years, a man’s testosterone hormone reduces by 10 percent which might in some cases lead to loss of interest in sex and ejaculation problems.

Dr. Nyirinkwaya notes that menopause and andropause come along with some diseases like heart diseases and bone diseases especially to men.
