People who seek medical services at Rukomo health center that is situated in Rukomo sector in Nyagatare District are unhappy with the services given which are so slow of which the health center’s Administration explains to be the insufficient number of nurses.
Patients complain that they get to get to the health center as early as 6:00 am but get to noon without any hope of seeing the nurse to attend to their problem as they queue on the long line of waiting as Claudine Musabyimana a patient at health center explained.
The health center administration say that the delay in giving medical services is caused by few nurses that work at this center compared to the big number of patients.
Joseph Nsabimana the deputy director of Rukomo health center said, “Many at times the delay is caused by patients who come here without knowing which services they want and where to go and they cause confusion and then comes the problem of few nurses compared to the patients we receive.”
Joseph Nsabimana went on to ask patients to first know what services they need before coming to the health center so as that they can make it possible for every patient to meet the doctor and get the desired services and to be patient with nurses and to always do the examinations they asked to do instead of complaining about slow services without participating.
During the draught season, Rukomo health center receives between 50 and 100 patients daily and yet it has 13 nurses who work in different services.
