Apart from Samuel Magerano, there is another man called Vincent Mugarura who had an eye infection for 1 year and 3 months which had caused him blindness but now he can see very well after being treated by soldiers’ doctors.
It is not only eyes that are treated but all diseases are being treated and people are hopeful and patients who haven’t got a chance to meet with doctors are getting worried because of their big number that is still growing and only two days to the end of this program.
Colonel Dr Ben Karenzi the director of Kanombe Military Hospital said that this big number shows that in Rusizi district there are a large number of people with health problems.
He said that they will add one day to the week they had planned to work there and those who will not be attended on will be brought to Kanombe Military hospital to be treated on the support of district administration.
Oscar Nzeyimana the mayor of Rusizi district asked people with usual health problems to go to their custom doctors on health centers and local hospitals so as to reduce on the number of the patients waiting to be treated the army week by soldiers’ doctors.
