
A Youth Friendly Center (NYFC) in Nyamasheke District in cooperation of PSI Rwanda has brought to the youth the program of HIV/AIDS voluntary testing from the 10th-14th.Sept.2012 and information about their health.
This center is used by youth in different sectors of the district in entertainment, lessons on reproduction health, family planning, unwanted pregnancies and drug abuse.
Parents were taught on how to talk with their children about their reproductive health, and about 280 youth tested for HIV/AIDS as Denyse Mukandori a teacher at this center explained.
This center is preparing a program called “cine mobile” where they will go around all sectors showing films to the youth that sensitizes them about HIV/AIDS prevention and on the fight against use and distribution of drugs while supporting the Neighbors’ eye program.
The NYFC started its operations in January 2012 and it receives youth from 14 years to 35 years of age.
