In order to reduce on the rate that women die while giving birth in Rwanda, Misoprostol tablets  will be administered to pregnant women who are about to give birth.

This type of medicine was before given to pregnant women in labor pains so that they can produce well, but with the research done, it was shown that it can even help women who hemorrhage after giving birth which may lead to death, said Evangeline Dushimeyezu, the Rwanda assistant in VSI an international organization.

She said that” everything possible will be done to see to it that this medicine gets to every health center in the country”.

She adds on that maternal mortality rates has really reduce as compared to the past ,and also says that this medicine will be given to doctors so that they can help people who give birth from their centers though this might not even be necessary at all.

Though Rwanda accepted the use of Misoprostol medicine, there are other countries that accepted this medicine in Africa which include Nigeria, Tanzania Kenya,, Zambia,Malawi and also Mozambique.

Again though there has been a very big reduction in women who die while giving birth, these deaths still exit in developing countries and prove to be a very big threat to women’s health.
