On October 11th 2012, residents of Nyamiyaga sector in Gicumbi district revealed their joy over a health post that will relieve them of long journeys to seek medical services.
Residents have been making long distances to the neighboring sectors to access health services, narrates Lucie Mukabarinda a resident of Nyamiyaga sector.
She says: “This health centre is an answer to a place like without a single health centre. It has been hard for those who could not have mutuelle de santé on time, because when you become ill, it means carrying you on a traditional carrier and walking many kilometers to another sector.”
Jean Bosco Muvunyi, executive secretary of Nyankenke sector confirms that this sector had no nearby health centre and that their prayers have been answered.
He adds that the building is accomplished and soon it will be officially opened for the operations to start.
