Rwanda | RUSIZI: Door to door campaign reviewed

While preparing for a family promotion month, Mission of Hope Rwanda with the support of Global Fund through SPIU project and Mururu sector in Rusizi district, the health workers in Mururu sector review their achievements in the 30 days of Door to Door Campaign.

Many of the programs worked on in this campaign include sensitizing people about HIV/AIDS and its prevention, family planning, the importance of circumcision and many others.

These programs were done in all cells of Mururu sector and this campaign was of much importance and far successful and it is going to reach all homes of residents of this sectors so as to change the misunderstood concept of people as Theoneste Niyibizi a health trainer in Mururu sector explained.

Health advisors were aided in this campaign by Mission of Hope Rwanda where it first trained the health advisors. This campaign is meant to give value back to people “because if people learn how to take care of their health and to give birth to the children they can take care of, he/she is valued” Johan Bosco Nzabiranda the accountant of Mission of Hope Rwanda reasoned.

In this Door to door campaign, about 1639 homes that were sensitized in Mururu sector, 1458 of them agreed to participate in family planning program and 1622 males agreed to circumcise. Mission of Hope Rwanda works in five sectors of Rusizi district which are Kamembe, Gihundwe, Nkanka, Giheke and Mururu sectors
