Rwanda | Rusizi: Residents move to fight against Tuberculosis

Officials in charge of Tuberculosis prevention from all health centres of Rusizi district gathered to evaluate the tuberculosis prevention program.

The meeting was aimed at finding out the number of patients and suspected tuberculosis patients and how medicine can be distributed to them.

Emmanuel Ndamwizeye, in charge of health in Rusizi district asked nurses and health workers to prevent spread of tuberculosis by giving much attention on the patients.

At district level, statistics from nine health centres in Rusizi show that Tuberculosis fighting is at 25.5 percent out of 100 percent in 2012 third semester.

The evaluation event attracted officials from the ministry of health, district authorities, health workers from hospitals and health centres.

The attendees note that what they discussed will help in reducing the number of tuberculosis patients.
