Residents if Ngororero district have been lauded for their participation in the use of Family Planning programmes taught and given to them at health centers and hospitals.

Beads used by local people as a family planning tool

The most popular method in family planning program in 2012 was the use of contraceptive pills where more than 103,000 contraceptive pills were distributed to women.

Statistics show that the use of contraceptive shots, beads, condoms are the other methods that were used in 2012 and the least used method was sterilization as only 590 used this program all over the district.

According to Emmanuel Kanyeganza who is in the Health official in  Ngororero, about 5000 people used natural methods of family planning and usually these people do not come for medical advice concerning family planning which makes it hard to evaluate them.

Kanyeganza calls upon the married couples to always agree on a certain number of children they need beforehand so that when the time to use family planning to stop having more children, it doesn’t cause misunderstandings between the couples.
