Parents should work with their daughters and explain to them about their reproductive health in preventing unwanted pregnancies as well as HIV/AIDS scourge which has destroyed the lives of the youth.
Parents were warned by the mayor of Burera district Samuel Sembagare saying that most young girls in this district get pregnant due to lack of knowledge on their reproduction health. Parents should listen and explain the body changes to their children and advice them how to behave.
“As parents, you should find ways to help your growing children especially girls. You should listen to them and advice them towards maturity” says the mayor “you should also take time to explain to them that pregnancy and AIDS take the same route.”
In Burera district where illicit drinks are termed as drugs. Young girls are taken advantage of by drunkards and most those who do not understand about their health end up with unwanted pregnancies.
The illicit alcohol are part of the increasing rate of unwanted pregnancies among young girls as most of them are enticed to take on the drugs of which they get drunk and lose control and taken advantage of.
The mayor of Burera district says the illicit drugs are to be rooted out in Rwandan society. “If we are to dignify ourselves, we should respect our own children, our wives and we will prosper” says the mayor.
