Kirehe: Mosquito nets distribution commended over malaria reduction

 Kirehe

After the government of Rwanda introduced the plan to give free mosquito nets to children under 5 years, children in Kirehe district have said they sleep comfortably and suffer no malaria.

Philomène Nyirarugwiro, a community health worker in Nyabikokora cell in Kirehe sector asserts that though malaria had vanished, they receive many malaria patients these days due to worn out mosquito nets children have been sleeping in.

However, the new bed nets are of great importance to the children because they will prevent them from malaria, he adds.

Jean Pierre Uwimana says his children will not suffer from malaria again unlike before where the only mosquito net they had was for the parents and the little baby.

His children confess they could find dead mosquitoes on them in the morning which caused them malaria diseases most times.
