This was said on Tuesday the 5th.March.2013 during the closure of a 5 days training for people with disabilities from Musanze, Gakenke and Burera districts on HIV/AIDS prevention and cooperative management.

Musanze: people with disabilities in training on HIV/AIDSThe training that was held in Musanze district was prepared by the forum of the handicapped people that fights against AIDS scourge.

Seratien Niyitanga one of the trainees says people with disabilities need to learn more about AIDS prevention because they are vulnerable to many things and AIDS inclusive.

“It is not that people with disabilities don’t contact AIDS like others but it is easy for them since they are weak physically and anyone can take advantage of them” Niyitanga explained.

Apart from prevention of AIDS, they were also trained on management of cooperatives and projects and they were taught to participate in the decision making of their cooperatives.

According to Marie Mediatrice Munezero a worker in this forum, they keep on training people with disabilities to increase their knowledge on prevention of HIV/AIDS and to support them as they work towards their development.
