Rwandans have been asked to pay attention to Liver diseases, learning how it can be prevented because most cases of the disease could be prevented; according to Medical practitioner Dr Emmanuel Musabeyezu.
The medical expert particular in liver diseases explained that liver has many types of liver A,B,C.D and emphasized much about type C& B.
“Liver disease type C is not curable and type B is very common and even many Rwandans have it and it is curable when it is diagnosed in its early stages” he explained.
Liver disease is contracted just like AIDS through sexual intercourse blood, sweat, secretion etc. he advised that people should avoid sharing clothes with liver patients, syringes and razors that have been used, Avoiding being in contact with another person’s blood or having unprotected sexual intercourse and others that would pace their lives at risk.
Dr Emmanuel musabeyezu said that the medicine for this type of liver in Rwanda is expensive and it can be taken between 24 weeks to 48 weeks. He reminded people that they should protect themselves because prevention is better than cure.
