Residents of Bugesera district have revealed that Kigali Health Institute (KHI) is treating the increased number of people with dental diseases after performing laboratory tests.
Anne Marie Uwitonze, one of the nurses asserts that the diseases diagnosed include; gum damage, bad mouth odor, bleeding gums, bad dental arrangement, sores in the mouth and swollen gum.
“The cause of all these diseases is poor hygiene of the teeth,” Uwitonze explains.
Agnes Mukamusoni, a resident of Ntarama sector says that residents have devised measures of preventing teeth and mouth diseases by keeping their teeth clean.
“We now brush our teeth every morning and after meals because we were told food that is left in the teeth after eating brings bad odor and infections,” she highlights.
