Nyagatare: University students urged to fight HIV/Aids

Youth at the University of Rwanda (UR)-Nyagatare campus have been called on to gear the fight against spread of HIV/Aids spread.

The call was made on March 14th 2014 during the event to officially start Anti-Aids Club in UR-Nyagatare.

The Anti-Aids club aims at stopping the new spread of Aids.

In his remark, Laurand Bizimana coordinator of Anti Aids commission in Nyagatare district told youth to abstain, and be faithful to their partners or use condoms to reduce the spread of Aids.

Alexis Rutikanga, in charge of health in Nyagatare district asserts that if youth combined efforts, HIV/Aids would be history in Rwanda.

Devota Uwase, head of Anti-Aids club at National University of Rwanda-Nyagatare branch encourages all students to join the club and share ideas towards fighting against Aids.

One of the aims of the club is to sensitize youth on testing for HIV to know their status and circumcise.
